When should I book my hotel?
We recommend booking your accommodations sooner than later. If you have difficulty finding something that works with your specific travel needs, please let us know. There are other hotels as well as private properties we can suggest.
Which hotel do you recommend?
El Convento Hotel, where we are staying, is currently sold out. Mil Flores, Hotel San Rafael and Hotel Porta are all excellent as well. Mil Flores is perhaps the most luxurious. Hotel San Rafael arguable offers the best value. Hotel Porta is excellent for families traveling with small kids or looking for more typical resort amenities.
When should I arrive? depart?
We hope everyone can spend as much time in Guatemala as possible. If you can turn the trip into more of a vacation, we encourage you to travel with us to Lake Atitlan before the festivities begin. We plan to spend time at Lake Atitlan from Saturday, November 21st to Thursday, November 26th. Please let us know if you're interested in traveling with us!
Actual wedding events will kick-off on Friday, November 27th with welcome drinks and will run through early Monday morning.
Do you have suggestions for finding flights?
We recommend setting up a fare alert using www.kayak.com/alerts to monitor rates to and from GUA (Guatemala City).
What is the best way to get to Antigua from the airport?
Antigua Tours is a local, reputable and bilingual travel agency we recommend for all transportation, tours and activities. We suggest coordinating your transportation needs in advance of your arrival. Taxis and public transportation are also available from La Aurora International Airport, if you are adventurous.
